Meta-What? | Memo
The Metaverse is where the division between the physical and digital world is no longer clear. It is where conceptual worlds become tangible. It is where we can share millions of human experiences without leaving one’s living room.
The Metaverse is not a single company, product, or service, but the recombination and integration of existing technologies & systems across cloud computing, social networks, artificial intelligence, and smart devices. It will literally and figuratively take a village to prop up the Metaverse into a meaningful construct in society.
It is where creators, brands, and consumers will collectively influence the design of the next revolutionary platform, similar to the adoption of personal computers.
Over the next few years (not decades), we will witness exciting changes to how we connect in real life and online. Emerging companies, such as Roblox, Unity, Microsoft, Verizon, and Facebook (now known as Meta Platforms Inc.), will be critical shapers of how consumers, investors, and brands engage and benefit from the Metaverse, for better or for better worse.
